Booked our May half-term holiday accommodation...

this evening - we'll be off to St Mary's Island on the Isles of Scilly. It was a bit of a phaff, and we've had to compromise, but at least it's now booked - I didn't realise that accommodation gets quite so booked up there. Apparently, people go back year after year, and think they probably book before they leave for the next time.
We're going from Penzance to St Mary's by helicoper, and staying about 100 yards from the Harbour.
The picture I've posted is of Appletree Bay, which is on the Isle of Tresco, and it just looks so peaceful and empty. Can't wait.

Builders are here again today..............

finishing off the wardrobe, and then getting on with the window in our bedroom.

Only problem was that they couldn't get the doors we'd planned, and they've had to make the wardrobe bigger, which means not that my desk doesn't fit in flat to the wall as there is insufficient space.

We will have to move it all up, get a further wheel base unit, and a further desk and get a double L configuration going on, which I actually quite like the feel of, plus Mum will have her own desk for her Italian coursework/sewing, and we'll be face to face.

Guy got Lydia's fish tank up and running last night, and we will go to Maidstone at the weekend to get a couple of inhabitants to it.

I pushed on with a bit of crafting last night, and my M&S tin is now well underway.....then I watched a lovely film called A bit like Love.

Right off to the Kingdom of Blah.....

We had a fabulous early supper yesterday.....

with people going around 9.00, it was lovely just to sit, eat, chat and drink the evening away.

Yesterday saw a telephone call that we've been waiting - heralding the builders' arrival tomorrow to build a walk in wardrobe and put in a window. So it's frantic activity here today moving furniture and finding sufficient dust covers.

Lydia is diving this afternoon, doing her 2nd speciality mission (8 more to go), so we need to get a serious move on.

Eye Candy .......does the sole good.........

Mr Tennant looking very foxy in Episode 6 of Blackpool. Ohhhh, it does a girl good to watch him!

We've been rushing around all over the shop today, buying ink cartridges, flowers, booze, and other random stuff .... oh, and an underwater camera for madam's photography dive tomorrow.

In a short while family and friends are descending on us, for late lunch/early supper in celebration of Lydia's 9th Birthday - which was yesterday. Really looking to munching into the Power Rangers cake that she's decided upon.

I've just picked up another couple of submission to the UK STampers Newsletter (Intensive Rubber Therapy), and am just about to finish off a further piece for that myself. I also need to track down a mermaid stamp, but I can't find one....so maybe will just go vintage instead.

Right off to baste the ham.............

I'll possibly regret posting this, as I really don't like

any kind of photograph being taken/displayed of me, but this whilst not good, is not exactly horrid - please bear in mind that I've lost about a stone since it was taken last year!

This is a picture of yours truly with my GodMother (Pat).

I'm afraid I look very pale and pasty against her, she always has such a fabulous tan.

I've just been putting the finishing touches to another Newsletter piece this evening, so obviously you don't get to see that yet.

We've had lots of submissions coming in over the last few days, all lovely - KEEP 'EM GOING GIRLS AND BOYS, the newsletter will be only as good as the submissions that we get.

I refuse to moan about the weather, or just how...

rotten the Kingdom of Blah was this morning, instead I am going to say that:-

I am lucky I have a wonderful Mother, Husband, Kids and life.

I love my shopee and UK STampers, and all the friends I have made there.

I love being on Team Tennant, and am having such fun talking to like minded (and let's face it quite sick girlies) like me who adore the Prince of Ruffledom.

I love my Miniten.

I love Blackpool (David DVD) and have watched 5 out of th 6 episodes since I got it on Friday.

I love K-Ology Trend pack I bought a fortnight ago.

I'm busy with the UK STampers newsletter, doing crafy type things, but can't show them to you at the moment - I will do something tomorrow to post though.

My office is a mess, and I don't care..............

I'm off to bed and episode 6 of Blackpool.

Creativity abounded last night.............

but I couldn't get on line this morning to up load, here is a quick card for Christine at the Kingdom of Blah, shame it's a bit late, but I'm sure she won't mind.
Yellow card blank is lurking underneath some blue floral paper from the K&CO Trend pack.
The I cut out a vintage add from one of the sheets in the Heatwarming Vintage Collection "Earthy" pack, inked with gold ink around the edges, and mounted with double-sided tape.
Stamped on the reverse side (stripe pattern) the flowers, leaves and photocorners from (Aud Designs) in gold pigment ink and embossed with SG-me! Glaactic Gold embossing powder the cut them out, and mounted at the bottom with silicone glue. Added some gems to the middle of the flowers for a bit of bling.
I will probably add some ribbon and beads to the spine, with a couple of tiny tags as well.
I did do something else, but that's for the UK STampers newsletter, so you won't get to see that yet.

I've been quiet, but I'm back with a vengence....

and here's a quick view of my Miniten posing with my heat gun. To the uninitiated (and less sad than myself and the other Team Tennant crew) he's a mini David Tennant (Dr Who) doll. Oh hours of fun will be had with him.

I could only get the K9 set, so Lydia got to have K9 as long as I had the Miniten, and we can play with them jointly - oh what it is to be 45 and decided not to quite grow up.

Clearly from the look on the Parental Control's face she was most definitely not amused - but as I pointed out it's my money and if as a subsitute for the real thing I require a miniten, then a miniten I shall have.

Off to Bloomin Scraps crop in Plumstead.......

today, and we are taking a small portion of the SG shop with us.

I have to admit that I've known about this crop since September, and am spectacuarly unprepared for it.

Put it down to Xmas, not being well, having been busy at work and other mother related incidents, but noting is packed, nothing is priced, and I can't get my head round it.

I have also yet to pack my brand spanking new tote with my own things too.

I will only take a proportion of the shop, as we would need a lorry to get it all there.

Right, better get packing.

Thanks to Faeryscrapper.............

I've just embarked on a playing card journal journey, which Emily Falconbridge is organising on her blog.

Basically, you have a pack of playing cards, and journal on one a week, so by the end of the year you have 52 small pieces of artwork, which can then be put in their own little bag for safekeeping.

Every week Emily will be putting up a prompt for that week to do a card. Obviously, we are a couple of weeks' into January so I have a few to do to catch up, but looks like fun - and after all, it is only one card a week when I've done caught up with the couple of weeks I've missed.

The beauty of it is that you can pre-do some/all of the background work in batches, so that you just need to grab a card and go with the flow.

Go on, have a go....

Last Night at the Museum.............

was certainly a very funny film. I took Lydia to see it last night after School.
Then afterwards we splured calories and went for a Macdonald's - bad me.
Still, I will be good today again, and go back to the fruit eating regime in the mornings, which seems to be doing the trick - I've lost half a stone already since Christmas.
The weather here today is absolutely fowl, I think the house might actually take off if it keeps up.
Thank you Audrey for your lovely comments, I love making the little inchies. I got Guy to print me off some colour copies of David Tennant for some, as I've entered an inchies swap on www.ukstampers.co.uk, but having got my hands on them this morning, he is way too small, so back to the drawing board with the size.
Kingdom of Blahness is calling, as much as I don't want to go - my cold is still lingering around, but mostly now I feel poorly in the afternoons, so I guess that's a bit of an improvement.

Unbelievable, I'm poorly sick still.....

and just can't seem to shake it off. Fingers crossed I improve for the weekend because I'm off (with the shop) to the Bloomin Scraps Crop in Plumstead.

I did mean to start doing a waterfall card project last night, but went to bed instead as I felt completely exhausted.

Back to the daily grind today at the Kingdom of Blah, but my boss isn't in so there will be practically nothing to be done probably.

I have made a supreme effort to get the CJ ready to post to Harpie (which I have to admit that I have been promising him for weeks and weeks), but sadly I haven't put an entry in it and will have to that at the end.

A small "Decline" for a wedding inviation .....

I started off making a mini-book, but the descriptions were really rubbish, and it wasn't quite right, so I was left with a cover - so as not to waste it, I made this small "decline" for a wedding that we've been invited to from the cover.

Inside are two little apetures, each with a vintage man and woman image in covered in clear EP.

It ties together with the green ribbon on the side.

The front is made from Heartwarming Expressions "Earthy", and has been distressed with my Chizzl-it. Then a piece of the reverse side of the cover sheet strip down the centre (with inked edges), and a "joyful" sticker from my new K-Olgy Trend Scrap Pad to go.

I stamped a Green Pepper Press (Graven Sheet) cross onto tissue with Timber Brown StazOn and added it over the strip with Golden Gel. Added a Prima Flower with a pearl to the side of the sticker. The back on the cover is the same, but has a "together" sticker on.

The envelope is from the Trend Scrap pad to go, and the "Love" sticker on the back, with another Prima and emerald jewel. I've also added a strip of the Heartwarming Expressions paper and three more Primas with emerald jewels in the middle of them. I also added a small stamped coin embellishment to the flap.

The front of the envelope has an apeture, and when the book is placed inside the cross etc., can be seen.

Round the spine of the book, I've tied some red ribbon, then added beads and tiny tags, with the couples name, decline, our name, love and with thanks. This dangles outside the envelope in the top left hand corner when the book is placed inside.

I have to admit that it wasn't the quickest thing in the world to do, but now I've done one, it would be easier to make another one.

I will now try and make more sense out of the original mini book instructions.

Stamps used: Paper Artsy Dolls Plates 1 & 4, Gentleman Plate, and Stagelights Plate 1, and then Green Pepper Press Graven.

An Inchie Virgin no more..............

I used one of my birthday cards from last year for the background.

Then stamped on a PaperArtsy stamp (one of the Gentleman Plates I think).

Then stamped the word "impress" (PA Dolls 1) on tissue paper and collaged on with Golden Gel.

Edged the whole thing with Black Staz-on.

Super quick and super fun, and I know that something that was made with friendship, has not just landed up in bin.

I think I'll use him on a tag.

Alan has arrived, and is semi up and running.........

and if you are wondering who the Dickens Alan is, he is the new base unit!

I did consider David, but thought Guy might actually refuse to instal him if I did. So Alan it was (actually this is the name of one of his characters - cunning).

Thanks to my lovely friend Clare who recommended the unit she got for Xmas, we've resolved the broken 'puter without having to shell out too much cold cash.

I placed the order, zoomed over to Comet over dinner (3/4 hour round trip at that time of night), and then Guy discovered that we had no CD's left, so I was despatched yet again (1/2 hour round trip) to Tesco to get some recordable DVD's (oh yes, Alan has DVD capacity).

I placed me order on line eventuall with the slow laptop, and by Midnight last night, Guy had restored personal email, office and other bits and pieces, still Photoshop and Office emails to go this evening. He's just left for work, and I've discovered that I can't get the external hard drive to work, which is a bummer 'cos I wanted to upload something.

Last night whilst he played PC Guy, I did do a small bit of crafting, but I won't be able to share the results yet because they are for the UK STamper Newsletter (Intensive Rubber Therapy).

Have to say that I am loving Inchies though, and will do a couple to upload on here.

My Parental Control is now poorly sick, so I will probably have to drop Lydia off to School on the way to the Kingdom of Blahh - where I will be spending the entire day on my own with nothing to do - joy, oh joy, oh joy!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that he has a card reader in the front, so I can get rid of one piece of hardware off my desk too.

Damn and blast, bloomin computer has died....

and the bad news is it cannot be heaved back from the brink again - rest in peace lovely desktop!

So I am making do with the notebook, which is very slow, and currently don't have access to the shop emails, so if you need to contact me at all use the mrskbolton@aol address for now.

I hate computer shopping, and walked out of PC World last time, when some spotty youth younger than my son tried to tell me that I could not under any circumstances transfer the licence I had for our security package (bought 1 week before) to any other computer - I knew I could - a row ensued, and out I went never to return.

Guy is of the opinion that we should go to a small independent retailer and get a specific system built, and I think I might agree with him this time.

It's a bummer though as we simply don't have the time to phaff around looking for computer equipment right at this very minute.

Any hoo, on a happier note, some of the new Paper Artsy Urgan Images plates have landed at the Galaxy, and boy are they lovely (the image above is Arched Apetures - Plate 2).

Lovely, had the frist couple of submissions in...

for the UK STampers Newsletter.

I've been busy setting up the Newsletter recently, which is going to be (for now) blog based with invited access for a small required payment for the invite - more details on this to follow a bit later on.

Poorly sick today with the most horrible cold and cough that has kept me awake all last night. The Parental Control was sallied forth to get me cough mixture and tissues - so not much on the blogging front from me today I'm afraid.

I need to be well for the Bloomin' Scraps crop in Plumstead on Saturday week as we are taking the Galaxy (pretty much lock, stock and stamp).

Things to watch out for at the Galaxy shortly are some of the new Stagelight stamps - fabulous gothic windows, which have a whole load of possibilities.

I did a tiny bit of crafting last night, but unfortunately I can't share it with anyone as it's for the newsletter - if I feel up to it later on I might do a quick card to upload here, as I think a blog without piccies is a very sad thing!

this is an artcall for UK STampers very first newsletter (if you are not already a member we would love to welcome you to our happy band - you can find a link on the side bar).

Some Summer stuff would be good, but apart from that go with the flow...atc's, cards, scrapbook layouts, altered art projects.

Please not anything that has been published, or shown on blogs or galleries previously though.

It would be nice to have one stamp three looks type thing as well.

In the first instance please forward possible submissions to mrskbolton@aol.com by way of jpeg, with a list of products used, and brief description of how you've done it. I know one or two of you have offered help doing this, and any help is going to be gratefully received!!!!!

Spread the word....closing date is 30th April 2007.

Circle Journal - right hand side..

blogger wasn't playing ball when I tried to load this yesterday.

This is the right hand page of Becky's CJ.

Guy's just left to deliver our darling daughter to his mother's, so I have the evening to myself - it's poo therefore that I seem to be going down v ery quickly with a cold.

So, it's off to bed with a hotwater bottle, and a good man - well technically he'll be on the telly not in my bed {insert smutty thought smile} - as the georgeous Prince of Ruffledom is on the Friday Night Project this evening {insert more very smutty thought smiles}.

Wednesday Stamper - Shapes......

this week's Wednesday Stamper theme of Shapes tied in very nicely with the Circle Journal that I've been working on for the last week.

Flowers are my favourite shapes, and I happy to admit that I use them time and time again - so I teamed them with UTEE (which was my chosen technique for Becky's CJ).

I used Vivid re-inkers, gesso and stamped tissue paper for the background, then used diecut floral shapes painted with Jo Sonja's and stamped, then several layers of UTEE over the top.

With ribbon stems, the odd bead, and a piece of lovely blended card from my birthday card from Clare last year for the labels leaves.

Issue 8 of Simply Stamping arrived in store today, so I'm off to grab a coffe and have a read.

Happy New Year everyone.................

I hope that 2007 will prove to be happy, healthy and prosperous for you all.

Mum and I went up to Kings yesterday to see Di - actually, whilst she's still very ill, I was pleasantly surprised that she was in such good spirits. There is a further scan today, so hopefully there will be some more news later today.

It took best part of the day to get up there, visit and get back, so no crafting for me.

I made a start on one of the outstanding CJ's I have to do (outstanding and late I should have said), and it's nearly finished. Guy's taking Lydia off to see her Godfather tonight, so I will be ramping up Dr Who and getting down to finishing that layout.

Back to the Kingdom of Blahhhh to me today, and I don't expect I will be in the happiest of moods, because my new fruit only (including drinks) before Noon, starts today. One of my friends swears by it for weight loss - so we shall see!
