I'm back.......

and we have just had the most marvellous time you could imagine in the Scilly Isles. This picture was taken from Cromwell's Castle on the Isle of Tresco.
I've also got some fabbie things I picked up ready to turn into stamp designs - we've found a new manufacturer for our rubber at a more competitive price - so watch this space!
I'll post some more pictures later on, but I need to pack for Lydia to go away again today, get tons of washing done, some admin and pack some orders that came in whilst we were away.
Laters peeps.

Righthand CJ page

this is the opposite side (same stamps, inks, etc).

Lefthand page of CJ

this is the left hand side from yesterday's post, I might have to move the word "love" as I stupidly didn't check where the holes for the posts went.

I need to re-scan the righthand page as I accidentally deleted it.

Stamps used: Paper Artsy Kids Plate, Anita's Seahorse and Heart background.

Inks: Crystal Blush re-inker, Pearlescent Purple and Coffee Brilliance and Antique Linen and Old Paper Distress Inks

I got a nice surprise this morning, Guy came back from Sevenoaks bearing a Pine Green Whispers Dye Ink for me.

Apart from that, I've been busily houseworking, and then took Lydia swimming this afternoon.

We've just had fish and chips for supper, and are about to settle down to a dose of Dr Who.

UK STampers CJ entry

I admit it, I am a bad, bad girl - I've had a couple of CJ's to do, and just pushed them to the back of my mind, so tonight I grapsed the nettle as it were..and actually got on with one.

It's Di's, and is entitled "My Favourite Things". It's drying at the moment, so I can upload it yet, but I am really pleased with it. I've used my seaside type stamps again (yes I know I've been using them a lot, but it does prove that you can do such different things with the same stamps) and also the new Heart by Collage by Anita's I got a week ago.

I had a great time playing with my Crystal Blue Opalite re-inkers - they been put away in the drawer, and it wasn't until I saw a demo on Create & Craft that I remembered them.

I've also used the UK STampers Colour Challenge #4 colours - Garnet, Amethyst and Amber - actually, if I'd been a bit smarter I could have used a Fleur de lis, and knocked Wednesday Stamper Challenge on the head to - LOL!

Our holiday is fast approaching now, and I've suddenly thought just how much I'm gonna miss at the weekend I am going to put together a wee travel kit containing, some ink pads, stamps and cardstock. Then I maybe can just do a few things to keep me from having to go cold turkey whilst we are away.

Rob and I had a chat the other night, and he is all keyed up with his responsibilities house sitting whilst we are away....and I think that he's looking forward to having his girlfriend staying for the week.

UK STamper Colour Challenge #4

or you could call this post ... that's a better effort.

I just wasn't happy with the first one, it just looked uncoordinated and messy. So I took off the flower and started again. Admit it, how many times have you done that?

So this is another 6 x 6" card.

Stamps used: Diamond pattern and swirl are Babies, Hearts & Borders sheet and Flowers & Swirls sheet and French Letter (Stamp Oasis).

Inks and EP's: Jet Black StazOn; Violet Whispers Dye Ink; Antique Linen and Old Paper Distress Inks and Gold Acylic paint (washed over the organe pattern paper). Kalidescope & Amethyst Tinsel EP's.

So busy today

that I seriously doubt I will get any crafting done. All I've done since I got hom is process orders, and sort out paper work - now it's time to see to Lydia and then I think I will fall into bed and watch a bit of the Bibster.

I still need to re-do the UK STampers colour challenge #4, as I really am not happy with yesterday's effort - granted, it looks better irl, but still there's something about it that doesn't gel.

I have another busy day in the office tomorrow, as everything needs to cleared up ready for holidays next week - talking of which I have a list as long as my arm to get done for that too - not to mention the no clothes bit that needs to be rectified...Bluewater here I come after work on Thursday to buy urgently needed glad rags.

Monday, May 14, 2007

mmmmmmm, now it's scanned I'm not sure

I actually like it - trust me...much better IRL, but then that goes for quite a lot of things in my experience!

Sorry, scan on the squiff too - told you I'd had a bad day.

UK STampers Colour Challenge #4

this week is up, and it's Garnet, Amethyst and Amber - lovely combo.

I've just done a quick card, which I'm waiting for the Glossy Accents to go off, but like this combo so much there will be more of them this week.

I've had a busy old day at the Kingdom of Blah, and feel a bit worn out.

Wednesday Stamper #2

just another, and very quick entry into Wednesday Stamper's turquoise challenge.

Cardstock is Bazzill pink (6 x 6 blank), then a 3" piece of turquoise cardstock from Heartwarming Vintage slab, with one the pictures from the Paper Artsy 008 sheet matted with gold, purple velvet and then chocolate brown cardstock.

The background is stamped with Penmanship (Penny Black) in Antique Linen Distress Ink, then Pressed Lacy Flower (Savvy Stamps) in Violet Whispers Dye Ink. All edges have been run over with the Antique Linen Distress Ink. Just a scrap of turquoise/pink ribbon added to the spine.

Envie that goes with the acceptance

Envie that goes with the acceptance. All stamps are Aud's, the ink is my new Whispers Port Wine, and I've just used a blue pencil to colour.

I really love Aud's new stamps, especially the circle sentiments.

Wedding Acceptance

for Guy's brother - he's getting married again in July, and Guy feels that he has to go, so I am very reluctantly being dragged along.

Fortunately, we will only have to suffer the Registry Office service and small meal afterwards, then we can high tail it home again.....but in any event, we needed an acceptance, so I've spent a few minutes this morning knocking one up.

Card base is a 12 x 6" piece of Bazzil folded in half to make a 6 x 6" card, my new favourite card blank to make at the moment. The paper is by Sweetwater, and the stamp along the left hand edge is my new one that I got yesterday (another Do Crafts), which is stamped in the other new purchase from yesterday a Whispers Dye Ink in Port Wine. Only other stamp on this is the heart from Aud's Cat's House Sheet.

The central image is from a Paper Artsy Picture pack (008), which is just such a lovely quick way to get a central image. You get two transparencies and two pictures per pack.

We enjoyed the film I mentioned yesterday, and all three of us ended up sobbing - quite unexpected to find a sad part like that in the middle of a film (I won't spoil it for people and say what happend). It was a cracking watch, and would highly recommend it for kids about Lydia's age and adults alike.

I'm sitting here eagerly anticipated a cooked brunch, which is on the go at the moment, then we are off to watch Lydia dive a bit later on.

Ahhhhhhh yes, yet again have I joined the ranks

of the Youth Petrol Resue Organisation - it's a force mobilised by a teenager at the press of a mobile phone button to let you know that they've run out of fuel, have no money, are no where near a petrol station anyway, and have 15 minutes to get to work.

I am now such a practised member of this Organisation, that I can whip on my lycra flying suit and hurtle out of the door in seconds....very Aneka Rice!

I've now returned from my latest mission, and think I might have a shower, book some cinema tickets and chill for the rest of the day. We're off to see a film Lydia has been talking about called "A Bridge to Terabithia" - I don't think it's my kind of thing, but she's excited.

Personally, I can't wait to see the Magicians film with Mitchell & Webb that's due out on 18th, and I informed Guy that we are going on a date to see it.

Quick Box for some notelets

I have had the most horrible day at the Kingdom of Blah today, and so it was lovely to get home and do a swift bit of crafting.

I made some notelets to go with the thank you card made in the week, and needed something to put them in - so I entered into hithertoo uncharted territory, and made a small box (well, that's what it ended up as, it started out as a sort of porfolio folder thingy and went a bit wrong).

Deliberately made sure that most of the contents like fibre, string and button can easily be re-used - as this is for a dear crafting friend. The notelets are really to use as a base for mini-cards or projects.

Right, off to have a bath and settle down from a dose of Dr Who and then Michell & Webb's Peep Show.

UK STampers Colour Challenge #3

my contribution to this Sunday's Colour Challenge #2, which was Lapis Lazuli, Oynx, Ivorny and Carnelian.

UK STamper Colour Challenge #2

Slightly bigger project as my second piece for last week's Colour Challenge #2.
I used a piece of dark blue cardstock as a base (it's slightly brighter IRL), stamped with Aud's Design Hearts and flowers from the Cat's House Sheet.
I added green Sakura gelly roll centres to the flowers, and clear to the petals for a bit if dimentsion.
A piece of 8 x 8 square of K & Co floral, with the photo of my Grandma, me and Maggie the cat matted on the same dark blue cardstock, and then a piece of Chatterbox gingham paper.
The file folder is also from K & Co and was in the same pad. Inside it is covered with the Chatterbox gingham paper, and holds the journalling. The quote on the from is from HOTP, torn and coloured with Whispers Dye inks in Butterscotch and Starry Starry Night.
Apart from the drying time for the glaze pens, it was super quick and easy page.

Matching Envelope for FIL's card

Stamps: Aud's Design (Cat & House sheet)
Inks: Whispers Dye Inks in Starry, Starry Night and Grand Cranberry.

UK STamper Colour Challenge #2

first attempt at last week's #2 colour challenge, which is a quick birthday card for my FIL. I really suck at very masculine cards/layouts I'm afraid - this is as butch as I can do.
Stamps: all from Aud's new Sheet (Cat & House).
Ink: Starry, Starry Night Whispers Dye Ink, and Sakura Gelly Roll pen in the green and clear.
The card is a pre-made one in Light Blue from Papermania, pattern paper is by Chatterbox.

More Whispers Pads

this time I got Butterscotch and Grand Canberry, as well as another pack of the Papermania Cards that I like so much (light blue).

I really only popped to Tonbridge to grab the June issue of Craft Stampers, as one of the UK STamper members, Sheila who is Manicstamper, has been published in it. Well done Sheila, lovely cards.

I'm right in the middle of my UK STamper Colour Challenge #2 at the moment, so I've only just popped by briefly to say Hi.

Lydia's Duck Race preparations

are now in full swing. I painted his head last night for her, and she is now decorating the rest of him.

I have to say this is the first year I am not dreading the whole ruddy thing - as hip hip horay MIL and FIL are taking her, and we get to miss it - I hate all that loving community spirit and they are in their element with it all.

I shall be staying at home and cooking dinner ready for their probably non-triumphant return - it only ever seems to be the PTA lot that win!

UK STampers ATC Kit Swap

have just been packed up and are now ready to go off to Sid. I just need to do my example copy, and start a new gallery for somewhere for him/everybody in swap to upload the examples too.
Now I've done that, and also know that the Bloomin Scraps Crop in Plumstead has been cancelled this weekend, I can breathe a little bit easier at this moment in time - I might even treat myself to a quick view of the latest Craft Weekly TV webisode.
I've been mega busy all day, and not really moved from my desk at the Kingdom of Blah - not even for lunch - I did manage to sneek down at 3.00 to grab a delicious ice cream from the van that visits on warm days though. Thank goodness it is nearly supper time, I am starving - really not a good idea to skip breakfast and lunch (and consequently eat complete junk all day is it?).
I have loads of things to do this weekend, including year end accounts to finish off, and loads of crafting projects to tick off the "to do list".

Quick Altered Notebook last night

Lydia and I had a little bit of a falling out briefly last night, which is highly unusual as she is usually an uber good girl (all sorted now), so to please her a little afterwards I altered a really cute plain notebook we picked up from Paperchase in Tunbridge Wells.
On the back I used the Paper Artsy Kids Plate 2 with my selection of Whispers Dye Inks, and the front the Shore Cliff Trim set with the same inks. Then just ran an Azurite Fluid Chalk Ink around the edges, and tied ribbon to the spine - she loves it, we are friends again, and the world is rosie.
I can't wait to I get home from the Kingdom of Blahhell, as there will be a new Webisode to watch from Craft TV - yay!!

Bloomin Blogger

I've just spent ages typing a post, I'm late and it's not playing ball - urggghhhh!

Trotted off to the ElectronicShop

and got a microphone, so we are good to go with the web cam I think.

I have also cut out hoards of stamps, and fingers crossed that will be it in the cutting department for a week or so.

I don't think there will be in crafting going on this evening though, as I'm a bit pooped. I really need to get my contribution for the UK STamper Colour Challenge #2 done, and I've done a bit of preparation work for that. I still have my ATC kits to get done, but I keep telling myself I work under pressure, so I expect it will all be a last minute canter to the finish line - having said that I don't think I'm gonna get the Wednesday Stamper entry done this week - not unless I get my bottom into gear first thing in the morning before work.

Right....I'm off for a quick flick over to UK STampers to see what's going on there.

Night, night all.

UK STampers Colour Challenge #2

this week is Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli and Peridot. Check it out here.

If you're not sure what colours there are wander off to google, there is a very good gemstone site, which I think is called

Have fun

Good progress

we got the webcam installed, bad news was that I'd forgotten this PC doesn't have a microphone (the last one had one built in). So off to Curry's for me today to get one.

I also cut out the first of my Aud Design Sheets last night in bed - there are not many men whilst lying in bed that wouldn't get excited by my comment "sorry if a bit of rubber hits you in the eye love", but Guy knows me so well, and the particular rubber I'm reffering to isn't - it's just the red kind that means new stamps and no action unless it involves an ink pad!

Off to the Kingdom of Hell (oh yes, it has upgraded from Blah now) in a minute to suffer 8 hours of boredom, but I might sneek off to the local craft shop to have a look round - I promise I won't buy anything honestly.

Have fun.
